Senior Early Years Officer – Nether Currie Primary Early Learning & Childcare
Salary: £40,501-£47,639
Hours: 36 per week
Nether Currie Primary School has moved into a new era with the addition of early learning and child care provision for children aged 2-5 years. A fabulous new nursery building opened in August 2022 and we have steadily seen our numbers of children rise over this time.
We are looking for a Senior Early Years Officer to join our setting, who can bring knowledge, experience, vitality, flexibility and a passion for helping young children develop and grow through planning and providing high quality learning experiences.
The successful candidates will have proven management knowledge along with experience of establishing and leading a new team.
The setting will offer early learning and childcare 52 weeks of the year, across a variety of models for up to 64 children.
The person must hold an HNC/SVQ3 in a relevant Childhood Practice award and an advanced early years qualification which accords with the requirements of the Standard for Childhood Practice and meet SSSC registration requirements without conditions. A commitment to undertaking the BA Childhood Practice is essential.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the early years team and contribute to establishing and sustaining a high-quality learning environment.
* Plan and provide high quality learning experiences for children aged 2-5 years.
* Support provision across 52 weeks with multiple models for up to 64 children.
Qualifications
* HNC/SVQ3 in a relevant Childhood Practice award.
* Advanced early years qualification in line with the Standard for Childhood Practice.
* Meet SSSC registration requirements without conditions.
* Commitment to undertaking the BA Childhood Practice.
Pre-employment checks
* This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
* The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.
* If an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required.
* An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to satisfactory outcome of these pre-employment checks.

Salary details
Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
