Job Description Senior Asset Finance Lawyer Location : Manchester Career Level : Senior Solicitor 5 PQE Salary : £55,000 - £75,000 Bonus Lead and Develop an Asset Finance Practice Are you an experienced asset finance lawyer looking for an exciting opportunity to join a growing team? Our client, a well-established and highly regarded commercial law firm with offices in Liverpool and Manchester, is seeking a Senior Asset Finance Lawyer at 5 PQE level to join their expanding finance team. This is an exceptional opportunity to work on high-quality asset finance transactions for leading financial institutions and contribute to the continued growth of a thriving practice. The Role As a Senior Asset Finance Lawyer, you will manage your own caseload of asset finance transactions, acting primarily for lenders, funders, and financial institutions. You'll handle a diverse range of asset finance matters including hire purchase, leasing, conditional sale, and equipment finance, working on both new facilities and portfolio management matters. The role offers genuine progression opportunities and the chance to work with established finance clients whilst also contributing to business development. You'll have the autonomy to run your matters whilst also providing supervision and guidance to junior team members. Your key responsibilities will include: Managing a caseload of asset finance transactions from instruction through to completion Advising lenders and financial institutions on asset finance facilities including hire purchase, leasing, and conditional sale agreements Drafting and negotiating facility agreements, security documents, and master agreements Conducting due diligence, reviewing security packages, and advising on perfection of security Advising on equipment finance, vehicle finance, plant and machinery finance, and other asset classes Handling refinancing transactions, portfolio acquisitions, and securitisation matters Advising on regulatory compliance and Consumer Credit Act requirements where applicable Building and maintaining strong relationships with finance clients Contributing to business development and the growth of the asset finance practice Providing commercially focused and pragmatic advice to clients Supervising and mentoring junior solicitors and paralegals Working collaboratively with colleagues across the finance and creditor services teams Meeting financial targets and managing matters profitably About You Essential Requirements: 5 years' PQE experience in asset finance, equipment finance, or leasing Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales Proven experience advising lenders on asset finance facilities and security arrangements Strong technical knowledge of asset finance, hire purchase, leasing, and security documentation Experience drafting and negotiating facility agreements, hire purchase agreements, and security documents Excellent understanding of security perfection, registration requirements, and title retention Knowledge of regulatory requirements including Consumer Credit Act and FCA regulations Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously Excellent client care skills and ability to build and maintain strong relationships Commercially focused with a pragmatic approach to transactions Strong communication, drafting, and negotiation skills Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines Highly Desirable: Experience acting for asset finance lenders, leasing companies, or challenger banks Knowledge of insolvency and enforcement procedures including repossession and recovery Experience with complex or high-value asset finance facilities Experience with portfolio acquisitions, securitisation, or warehouse facilities Supervisory or mentoring experience Business development experience and existing client relationships Experience working in a collaborative team environment Key Attributes: Experienced and enthusiastic with a proactive approach Friendly, welcoming, and hard-working Strong work ethic with commitment to delivering high-quality work Commercially astute with strong problem-solving abilities Team player who thrives in a collaborative environment Target-driven with a focus on achieving financial objectives Eager to contribute to the growth and development of the practice What's On Offer Our client is committed to rewarding talent and hard work with a competitive remuneration package and excellent opportunities for career progression.
