We provide person-centred care that supports independence and respects individual choice, enabling our residents to lead their best lives. As a Domiciliary Care Assistant, your role is to help residents make the most of life, and in exchange, we will support you in reaching your full career potential. We are currently seeking Assistants at various levels to provide a variety of domiciliary, residential, nursing, and dementia care services as required. Our Domiciliary Care Assistants are the spark that ignites the spirit of our award-winning retirement village. Their endless enthusiasm and gentle care raise spirits, turning every moment into a cause for joy.
You’ll help us make health happen by:
1. Assisting residents with personal care duties such as bathing, dressing, and continence care in their own homes within the Village. Providing the highest standards of care, you’ll champion the dignity and independence of all our residents.
2. Supporting at mealtimes where appropriate; serving meals in their apartments or within the care home. This might involve supporting them to walk, transferring them in a wheelchair, or using a hoist.
3. Helping to promote mental and physical activity of residents through hobbies, interests, or activities within the village.
4. Answering emergency calls when the care alert system is activated.
5. Working with the Domiciliary Care Manager and other external professionals such as GPs, Chiropodists, Occupational Therapists, and Physiotherapists where appropriate.
6. Admin duties: keeping accurate records - maintaining full documentation at all times to show care given, activities, and any changes to their health.
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
Your experience in a care or dementia setting, or perhaps a Level 2/3 qualification in Health & Social Care (or equivalent), is commendable. However, it's your passion for caring for others, honouring their choices, and prioritizing their safety and well-being that truly stands out. As an excellent listener with an optimistic attitude, you engage confidently with both residents and their families, recognizing the paramount importance of confidentiality in our work. With a readiness to set a positive example and assist the broader team, you provide care with dignity and empathy, striving daily to bring joy to our residents.
