Role overview
Assistant Manager – responsible for supporting the Store Manager in delivering sales and operational excellence, while developing a high‑performing team.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Store Manager in running day‑to‑day operations and achieving sales and KPI targets.
* Set clear sales goals, track performance, and refine processes for continuous growth.
* Build a positive team culture through recruitment, training, development, and coaching.
* Analyse sales data and financial reports to make informed commercial decisions.
* Act as point of contact in the Store Manager’s absence.
* Provide excellent customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving complaints.
* Manage opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and till reconciliation.
* Support hiring, onboarding, and training of new staff.
* Maintain colleague schedules to ensure adequate coverage and productivity.
Role objectives and KPIs
* Reach or exceed monthly sales targets.
* Hit additional KPIs: Units, Conversion, ATV, UPT.
* Achieve upselling or cross‑selling goals.
* Maintain a high Net Promoter Score.
* Ensure stock accuracy during audits.
* Complete all mandatory training for new colleagues.
* Achieve employee satisfaction benchmarks.
* Keep operational costs within the allocated budget.
Skills and Experience
* Previous supervisory or management experience in a fast‑paced retail or customer‑facing environment.
* Strong communication and coaching abilities.
* Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and KPIs.
* Experience analysing KPI data to support commercial decisions.
* Attention to detail and commercial mindset.
* Visual merchandising experience is an advantage.
