The role will be split between working directly for the Business-to-business product manager supporting his objectives and Network infrastructure implementation architect responsible for designing, building, and configuring technical solutions in accordance with architectural governance, standards, and policies.
The primary technology area of focus for the role is Business to Business connectivity via various DMZ's throughout EMEA via both public and private connections. The role also includes Data centre, Core Networks and Corporate/Branch including Wireless.
This role also provides senior networking technical support to Network Operations, therefore an understanding of the role of Operations, troubleshooting practices and the use of proactive and reactive tools is important to the Data Network Implementation architect's role. Understand how the work impacts service resiliency & how their role impacts the firm's business and reputation, considering risk.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ability to analyze in detail current in-production designs and network environments and report on these using direct access, network tools, and automation scripts.
2. Design & build Cisco network solutions based on standards and strategies with a focus on business-to-business solutions via DMZs.
3. Support internal network projects such as branch site and data centre work.
4. Collaborate with Design, Operations, and Architecture Engineering to share knowledge and support the team's delivery of network solutions.
5. Manage project delivery lifecycle by creating detailed implementation plans, including testing, acceptance criteria, back-out, validation, and procedures.
6. Ensure proper project close-out practices, including asset tracking, inventories, documentation, and system updates.
7. Conduct design reviews to ensure team understanding and address any issues.
Required Experience & Knowledge:
1. Strong technical knowledge in Cisco IOS XE, Routing, Switching, DMZ designs, Multicast, BGP, Firewalls, VPN, ACL, Network Security, Latency, Leased Line, Colo Cross Connects, Internet Access, Tunnelling protocols, SSL/TLS, GRE & IPSEC.
2. Knowledge of Load Balancers, Fortinet Firewall, McAfee/Skyhigh Proxy, Arista, DNS, NAC (.1x), QoS, ISIS, OSPF, NHRP, MPLS, L2TP, Wireless/Wi-Fi solutions, AAA, Cable, Core WAN/MAN Technologies, Dark Fiber, DWDM, Carrier Circuits SD-ACCESS & MACSEC.
3. Extensive experience in Data Networking, especially within Business-to-business/DMZ environments using Cisco equipment.
4. Strong understanding of Network Security.
5. Experience with Automation tools and scripting languages such as Python, Ansible, Perl, PowerShell is desirable.
6. Proficiency with MS Office, MS Visio for documentation and project support.
7. Ability to produce professional documents and identify automation and process improvement opportunities.
8. Experience with network analysis and debugging tools like Splunk, Wireshark, etc.
9. Industry certifications like CCNP or CCIE are desirable but not mandatory; relevant experience is prioritized.
