Role: Project & Process Manager - Sustainability
Role Type: Temporary – 12 Months
Location: Macclesfield – 3 days on-site per week / 2 days remote
Your New Role
The purpose of the role is to manage projects and own processes supporting the enterprise-wide transformation of sustainability performance. The role involves championing an approach where sustainability is embedded in all activities, impacting flagship initiatives.
The Project & Process Manager is responsible for risk management, benefits & value management, and resolving or escalating risks and issues. They ensure project teams adhere to quality and compliance standards and support assurance activities.
The projects may involve significant financial investment and risks, including reputational risks, involving internal and external stakeholders.
The role requires cross-organizational ownership, global connectivity, and representation of Global Sustainability internally and externally.
The role includes acting as a Business Process Owner within Global Sustainability, involving process review, improvement, and implementation.
The position is part of the Projects and Change team in Global Sustainability, working alongside subject matter experts to achieve sustainability goals.
Your Responsibilities:
* Lead cross-functional sustainability projects, establishing and leading teams per recognized project management frameworks to ensure timely and budgeted delivery (e.g., smart metering rollout).
* Own and improve business processes through business process management approaches.
* Represent sustainability in transformational activities and provide expert input.
* Develop and promote sustainability strategies within AstraZeneca.
* Mobilize projects and alliances with internal and external stakeholders, providing clarity and vision.
* Manage project budgets and benefits.
* Identify and manage project risks, making decisions within risk management processes.
* Communicate effectively and influence stakeholders on sensitive issues, driving decision-making.
* Maintain high business acumen.
* Experience in sustainability projects or functions.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Global and cultural awareness.
* Ability to influence stakeholders across levels.
* Experience in the pharmaceutical or regulated industries.
* Subject matter expertise in sustainability.
* Experience managing projects or change programs impacting multiple stakeholders in a matrix environment.
