Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Solar Technical Auditor / Electric Qualified Supervisor to join our fast-growing renewables team.
This is a full-time, field-based role responsible for conducting technical audits, inspections, and site surveys to ensure Solar PV and Battery Storage installations comply with:
Internal company procedures
Client requirements
Industry regulations
Electrical safety standards
You will play a critical role in maintaining quality assurance standards, identifying risks, ensuring technical compliance, and supporting continuous improvement across our renewable energy projects.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct technical audits of Solar PV and Battery Storage installations.
Ensure compliance with company policies, industry best practices, and electrical standards (including BS 7671).
Identify technical defects, safety hazards, or performance issues.
Produce detailed audit reports with clear corrective action recommendations.
Monitor remediation actions and ensure closure of audit findings.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive audit documentation and records.
Collaborate with installation teams, engineers, and project managers to resolve non-conformances.
Support training and mentoring of installation teams on quality and compliance requirements.
Review technical drawings, schematics, and project documentation.
Stay up to date with developments in solar technology, battery storage systems, and regulatory frameworks.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying trends and recurring issues.
Experience & Skills – Essential
Proven experience in Solar PV and renewable energy system installation.
Strong technical knowledge of electrical standards and safety guidelines.
Experience conducting inspections, testing, or quality assurance checks.
Ability to manage multiple audits independently and meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Confident written and verbal communication skills.
Comfortable working independently in a field-based role.
Full UK Driving License.
Essential / Mandatory Qualifications
18th Edition (BS 7671)
Level 3 Test & Inspect or Level 3 NVQ in Electrotechnical Services (Initial Verification)
Level 3 EESS (Electrical Energy Storage Systems – Battery Storage)
Level 3 Award in Small Scale Solar Photovoltaic Systems
NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent
Desirable Experience
Experience working within regulatory and compliance frameworks.
Previous experience in auditing or inspection roles.
Experience using audit or inspection software.
Strong documentation review and report writing skills.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and system schematics.
