We're seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to support the Sales & Marketing Vice President in driving regional revenue growth in the UK and Europe. This hands-on role will be based in our Stretchline facility in Long Eaton, Nottinghamshire and will play a key part in executing sales strategies and ensuring alignment with global brand initiatives.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day customer relationships, collaborating closely with both local and global teams. With a strong focus on customer satisfaction and commercial performance, this role is critical to achieving sales targets and contributing to the broader success of our strategic business goals.
Key Responsibilities
Brand Identity & Relationship Management
* Partner with the Sales & Marketing VP/GM to drive regional sales and marketing efforts for global brands, supporting growth through engagement with potential customers and strategic partners.
* Develop and sustain a strong Stretchline brand identity while nurturing long-term partnerships with key customers and vendors.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with local marketing offices, delivering tailored solutions that enhance customer retention and loyalty.
Market Research & Business Development
* Conduct in-depth market research to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitor activity, delivering insights to guide strategic planning.
* Understand customer buying cycles and seasonal requirements, ensuring timely and relevant product presentations.
* Identify and pursue new business opportunities and untapped markets to drive revenue growth and expand regional presence.
* Keep leadership informed on market dynamics and customer insights to support data-driven decision-making.
* Organise and support participation in trade shows, exhibitions, and industry events to elevate brand visibility and showcase products.
Documentation & Presentation Support
* Prepare both promotional and non-promotional materials, ensuring consistency with marketing, development, and sales strategies.
* Support in creating impactful presentations and conducting data-driven analyses to aid strategic discussions.
* Ensure timely and accurate delivery of all required documentation to internal and external stakeholders.
Pricing Strategy & Costing Support
* Collaborate with the Sales & Marketing VP/GM to implement pricing strategies that align with business objectives, support profitability, and expand market share.
* Work alongside development teams to secure technical support and initiate theoretical costing processes as required.
General Support
* Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by management in alignment with the scope of the role and evolving organisational needs.
Qualifications and Experience
Educational Background
* A bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field is preferred.
Professional Experience
* Minimum of 5 years' proven experience in sales management, ideally within a similar industry.
* Demonstrated experience working with international sales teams and managing sales across diverse geographical regions.
* Strong capabilities in market analysis, financial evaluation, pricing strategy, and customer engagement.
* Proven ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans aligned with business objectives.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the agility to respond to evolving market dynamics.
* Results-oriented with a customer-first mindset focused on satisfaction, retention, and business growth.
* Skilled in stakeholder management, with strong negotiation and relationship-building expertise.
