We are looking to recruit a new member of our nursing team at Carnon Downs Surgery. We have a vacancy to replace an experienced General Practice Nurse as we are potentially reshaping the current format of our nursing team. We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse who will work alongside our other Nurses, a Nursing Associate, and 2 Healthcare Assistants, one of whom is about to start training as a Nursing Associate.
Main duties of the job
We welcome a forward-thinking and patient-focused nurse to run independent clinics, including cytology, wound management (including compression), immunisations, and phlebotomy. Experience with Long Term Conditions management would be an advantage.
You will be supported to develop your skills and knowledge and be willing to undertake training where necessary.

Job responsibilities
Assist with routine patient care tasks as directed by the Practice Manager, Lead Nurse, and GP Partners, including but not limited to:
* Cytology
* Wound management
* Immunisations
* Phlebotomy
* All treatment room tasks
Experience with Long Term Conditions management is desirable but not essential. The post holder must be keen and willing to supervise student nurses and support junior team members. Ongoing training and progression opportunities will be provided.

* Desirable: Long Term Conditions Management, Wound care, Cytology, Travel vaccinations, Contraception advice and reviews
* Essential: Knowledge of SystmOne, maintaining equipment, chaperoning patients, ensuring tidiness and cleanliness, working effectively with other agencies, managing own workload, working within the QOF, good communication skills, ability to work independently, supporting junior staff, flexibility for cross-cover
