You’ll play an important role in helping pupils feel safe, valued and empowered to reach their full potential — both academically and personally. In this role, you will: • Support children and young people with additional needs in and out of the classroom • Help create a positive, nurturing and inclusive learning environment • Encourage pupils to build confidence, independence and social skills • Work closely with teachers, therapists and wider school staff to provide tailored support • Celebrate and promote every learner’s progress and achievements The school is looking for someone who: • Has experience supporting children or young people, ideally within a SEND or educational setting • Understands inclusive practice and how to support a range of learning needs • Has excellent communication skills and a calm, patient and empathetic approach • Builds positive relationships with pupils, staff and families • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people Experience supporting pupils with autism and/or complex needs would be highly beneficial, particularly experience using alternative or augmentative communication methods. Additional training such as safeguarding, first aid or positive behaviour support is also advantageous.
