Electrical Engineer

My client designs and manufactures specialist equipment for process industries. They are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join their team in Hertfordshire on a permanent basis.
Salary: GBP 40,000 – 50,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Type: Permanent, Location: Hertfordshire
Qualifications
* Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ in Electrical Engineering or similar
* 2–4 years’ or more of relevant experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
* Strong electrical design skills and ability to design and develop control systems
* Background in Water / Chemical / Oil & Gas / Aerospace / Automation industries is ideal
* Experience with electrical CAD software such as EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical or similar
* Knowledge of PLCs, control panels, instrumentation, and low‑voltage systems
* Understanding of relevant standards such as BS7671, IEC, or similar
* Strong project management skills
* Excellent problem‑solving skills
* Proven ability to take a leadership role and motivate others
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
* Ability to work well individually as well as part of a multi‑disciplinary team
Responsibilities
* Designing electrical systems and control architectures for equipment integration
* Producing and updating electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings
* Supporting the development and improvement of engineering processes
* Generating BOMs and ensuring accurate documentation within the MRP system
* Liaising with other internal teams to coordinate project requirements
* Working with manufacturing partners and suppliers to ensure successful project delivery
* Ensuring compliance with electrical safety, quality and H&S standards
* Assisting in the commissioning and testing of equipment
* Preparing and maintaining technical documentation
* Working in a small multi‑disciplinary team on varied and technically challenging projects
