The AICS Group specialises in providing community-based rehabilitation and support to our clients who have a brain injury, cerebral palsy, spinal injuries, learning disabilities, complex behaviour, live in support and social and personal needs.
The AICS Group is looking for Personal Assistant to work with our client who is located in postcode AL10. This role provides immense job satisfaction within a busy and varied environment, working with a range of health and social care professionals.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Job Summary:
We are looking for a reliable, proactive, and compassionate Personal Assistant to support a wheelchair user who sustained injuries from a road traffic accident. The ideal candidate will be someone who takes initiative, is organised, and can provide both personal and practical support in day-to-day life — including driving, household tasks, and general companionship.
Key Responsibilities:
* Driving and transportation support: Assist the client with transport to appointments, errands, social engagements, and other daily outings.
* Personal assistance: Support with mobility, including safe transfers in and out of the vehicle and around the home as needed.
* Household tasks: Assist with light domestic duties such as cleaning, laundry, meal prep, and organising the home.
* Shopping and errands: Help with grocery shopping, picking up prescriptions, and other tasks outside the home.
* Daily living support: Be available to assist with various day-to-day needs in a respectful and empowering manner.
* Proactive engagement: Take initiative to identify and act on ways to make life easier and more comfortable for the client.
* Companionship: Offer friendly, supportive company while maintaining appropriate personal and professional boundaries.

Essential Requirements:
* Full, clean UK driving licence (or relevant local equivalent)
* Confident driver with experience
* Physically capable of assisting with manual tasks (e.g., pushing a wheelchair, helping with lifting where appropriate)
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Ability to take initiative and work independently
* Respectful, empathetic, and trustworthy
* Right to work in the UK (or relevant location)
Desirable Attributes:
* Previous experience in a similar personal assistant or support role
* Basic understanding of mobility challenges and accessibility needs
* First Aid training (or willingness to undertake)
* Flexibility with working hours and duties as needs may vary
