We're working with a specialist SEMH provision in South Shields that is looking to appoint SEMH Teaching Assistants for the new academic year.
Operating across two sites, the provision supports pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs, providing a structured and nurturing environment where every pupil can succeed.
We're looking for compassionate and resilient individuals who are committed to supporting young people with additional needs.
What you'll be doing
• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and within small groups
• Assisting teachers with classroom activities and interventions
• Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
• Supporting pupil engagement and learning outcomes
• Building strong relationships with pupils and staff
• Monitoring and recording pupil progress
What we're looking for
• Experience supporting children or young people
• A patient, calm and adaptable approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• An interest in SEMH and alternative provision settings
• A genuine passion for supporting young people
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
