Carmichael UK is working with a leading Tier 1 contractor delivering a major highways project in Gloucestershire. We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer with a strong background in highways, earthworks, and drainage to support the delivery of this high-profile scheme.
The Role
You will be responsible for providing site engineering support across key elements of the project, ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately, and in line with programme and specification requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Setting out for highways and motorway works
Supporting the delivery of earthworks, including bulk earthworks and cut & fill
Overseeing drainage works, including deep drainage and highway drainage
Ensuring works are carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications, and RAMS
Producing and maintaining as-built records and quality documentation
Liaising with subcontractors, supervisors, and the wider project team
Supporting inspections and health & safety compliance on site
About You
Proven experience as a Site Engineer on highways or major infrastructure projects
Strong experience in earthworks and drainage – essential
Background working for a Tier 1 or major civil engineering contractor
CSCS card (essential); SMSTS desirable
Good communication and organisational skills
Proactive, delivery-focused approach
