Key Responsibilities:
* Lead a crew to execute flatwork and wall work projects, ensuring quality and efficiency.
* Coordinate the preparation and pouring of concrete for flat surfaces such as slabs, sidewalks, and driveways, ensuring proper thickness and finish.
* Supervise the construction and installation of concrete walls, including foundation walls, retaining walls, and decorative walls, ensuring structural integrity.
* Oversee the layout and forming of concrete structures, ensuring all work aligns with project specifications and design plans.
* Monitor the curing process to guarantee optimal strength and durability of the concrete.
* Inspect work for compliance with safety and quality standards, addressing any deficiencies immediately.
* Train and mentor crew members on proper techniques for flatwork and wall work, ensuring best practices are followed.
* Maintain equipment and ensure all tools are in good working condition.
* Collaborate with other trades and project managers to coordinate tasks and schedules effectively.
* Complete additional tasks as needed while adhering to our Safety Program.
What We’re Looking For:
* At least 5 years of experience in concrete walls and flat work with some supervisory roles.
* Strong knowledge of construction and concrete practices and safety regulations.
* The ability to read blueprints and project specifications with strong attention to detail.
* Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a focus on motivating teams.
* Problem-solving skills to tackle on-site challenges effectively.
* A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Schedule:
* Monday to Friday with the potential for overtime.
* Availability for weekend work.
Work Location:
Primarily based in the Waterloo Region with some travel across Southern Ontario.
