Assistant Engineering Manager – Liverpool
Salary: £50,000 per annum
Location: Liverpool, UK
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Assistant Engineering Manager to join a leading bus operator in Liverpool. This is an exciting opportunity for a forward-thinking professional to support and improve fleet maintenance operations in a fast-paced, service-focused environment.
About the Role:
As Assistant Engineering Manager, you will support the Engineering Manager in the day-to-day running of the engineering department. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that all vehicles are maintained to the highest standards, that staff are effectively managed, and that services continue to operate smoothly and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee depot engineering operations in support of the Engineering Manager
2. Ensure all vehicles are maintained in line with company and DVSA standards
3. Lead and manage workshop staff, providing guidance and support
4. Monitor and improve workshop productivity and performance
5. Ensure compliance with health and safety and vehicle legislation
6. Coordinate with other departments to maintain service reliability
What We’re Looking For:
* Strong experience in a vehicle maintenance environment (bus, HGV, or commercial vehicles)
* NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance
* Solid understanding of compliance, safety, and workshop processes
* Strong leadership and communication skills
* A full UK driving licence (PCV licence desirable)
