Injection Moulding Setter – Night Shift
Location: Middleton (Greater Manchester)
Salary: £37,500-£39,000/annum (depends on experience)
Type of role: Full-time, Permanent
Shift pattern: Monday-Friday, 22:00-06:00
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and hard-working Tool Setter to join our team! We are an injection-moulded plastics company operating in a huge array of industries, and as a Tool Setter you will be maintaining, changing and replacing the tools inside our machinery. You will be responsible for the setting and operating of moulding machines within your section and assisting in completing orders on time, as well as supervising small teams of operators on the mould shop floor.
Key Responsibilities
To be able to demonstrate tool changes safely and to the highest standards in line with the Company’s schedule
To be able to utilise the injection mould setting to ensure all processes are optimised to achieve targets on new and existing products
To ensure injection moulding processes minimise waste and maximise cost-effectiveness
To be able to troubleshoot, problem solve and use a logical approach that achieves a speedy solution to the problem
To be able to carry out basic machine maintenance
To be able to carry out basic tool maintenance and insert changes
To identify continuous improvements ensuring product quality standards are adhered to
To ensure good working practices and processes are adhered to at all times
To lead a small team of operators as required
Assist with the operating of machinery when necessary to ensure optimum efficiency and output
Mixing of materials when required in preparation for production runs
Assist with the cleaning down of driers prior to production runs
Ensuring effective data capture, reporting and visibility of data relating to setting performance
Undertake and deliver training and development as required
Establish relationships and liaise with all members of the Process team to ensure operational success
Establish relationships and lead the shift team to ensure production schedules are followed
Knowledge & Skills / Experience
Proven experience in a similar role
Knowledge of injection moulding processes
Experience maintaining and setting tools in a manufacturing environment
Curious and able to creatively solve problems
Strong communication skills
Methodical approach and attention to detail
Clear verbal and written communication skills
Mathematics and following instructions
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
