We are delighted to present an exciting opportunity for a skilled and self-assured Accountant to become part of our Finance Team. This role plays a pivotal part within the Finance Team, overseeing various aspects of the Financial Statements, maintaining precise records, and furnishing crucial information to the Group FC, CFO, and Senior Management Team to facilitate decision-making processes. Key Delivery Areas:
Responsibilities of the role may vary according to business needs, they will include, but will not be limited to:
* Be responsible for the monthly/quarterly/annual closing processes such as preparation of journal entries, payroll, R&D and intercompany transactions for the assigned group accounts.
* Month end Reconciliations of assigned Financial Statement Line Items.
* Full ownership of one of the trading entity accounts including P&L, Balance Sheet Reconciliations, variance analysis to budget and maintenance of accurate accounting records from orders to revenue recognized and invoiced.
* Maintenance of Financial Model with historic and forecast results for the Group.
* Maintenance of Group payroll schedules and payroll forecasting.
* Cash forecasting.
* Management of Atcore’s Australian Accounts.
* Support in preparation of group reports and review schedules.
* Support in covering compliance requirements such as tax, statutory and ONS filings. Ensuring that reporting is compliant with all relevant accounting standards and keeping up to date with new reporting standards.
* Ad-hoc reporting requirements.
* Support Year-End Audit and Tax submissions.
* Support Annual Budget.
Possible areas for development:
* Statutory accounts preparation for one of the UK entities.
* Budget preparation.
* Presentation of P&L and variance analysis during review meetings.
* Client Profitability Analysis.
* Greater involvement with Group reporting.
Essential Skills / Experience
* Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA).
* 2+ years of experience within Finance department in a similar role.
* Thorough understanding and experience of the Duties and Responsibilities noted above.
* Excellent IT skills, including advanced level Microsoft Excel experience.
* Proactive, can-do attitude.
* Vision of bringing improvements and efficiencies to the role and Finance department with the use of technology.
* Sound business knowledge, with a pragmatic approach to assigned tasks.
* A great communicator, capable of getting their message across in person, in writing or to a group.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, team working skills and generally a friendly demeanour.
* Ability to work well under pressure and autonomously.
* Determined and results focussed and adherence to deadlines is essential.
* Proven track record of handling confidential information.
Desirable Skills / Experience
* IT sector work experience.
* Degree level qualification.
* Power BI experience would be an advantage.
