Dudley Academies Trust are seeking a skilled and proactive IT Technical Project Manager to join our Central Trust team as a technical lead. The post holder will provide technical, operational, and project management support, offering guidance and supervision to IT and other staff across the Trust to ensure the effective day-to-day delivery of IT services for all users. As one of the technical leads within the Trust central team, the post holder will be responsible for resolving business-as-usual issues, managing resources to maintain IT service levels, and ensuring adherence to established standards across the Trust. The role also involves line management of IT staff and will lead on IT projects and service improvements, both within individual schools and across the Trust. In addition to technical responsibilities, the post holder will oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of IT projects, ensuring they align with the Trust’s strategic objectives Dudley Academies Trust inherited a code managed service arrangement with Dudley Grid for Learning and RM to provide all IT services to it’s schools. During the summer of 2025 the Trust migrated all services away from the historical DGFL arrangement, and now fully manages all IT services on behalf if it’s schools with colleagues directly employed within the wider central team. This migration has significant long term benefits for all colleagues working across the Trust including seamless movement between all sites, improved resilience and access to files and resources in the cloud, and maximising the potential of Office 365, our Sharepoint based Intranet, and a wealth of other benefits. Backed by over £500k of investment by the Trust into replacement hardware, this transition sets out very strong foundations for future growth of our IT offering, whilst achieving strong savings over previous costs. Dudley Academies Trust is now keen to grow our in house team with the addition of new roles, including the IT Technical Project Manager to support the increased demand and help shape the future services within our strong IT team.
