GSL Education are seeking a committed and nurturing PMLD Teaching Assistant to support students in schools across Scunthorpe. This full-time role is ideal for individuals with experience working with children with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) and complex needs, who are passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred support.
The Role:
You will work closely with pupils who have complex physical, medical, and learning needs, providing tailored support to help them engage with learning activities and develop essential life skills. This may include personal care, sensory support, and assisting with communication strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with PMLD and complex needs
Assist with personal care and mobility where required
Support sensory learning and engagement activities
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff
Promote a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
Requirements:
Proven experience working with children with complex needs/PMLD
A calm, patient, and compassionate approach
Confidence supporting personal care needs
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Full-time availability is essential
