As a Graduate Fire Safety Engineer you will be working with our Fire Safety Engineering team, part of the Energy division. You will provide support to deliver challenging and engaging Nuclear, Defence and buildings projects. You will assist in the production of building fire strategies, fire and explosion assessments and the design of fire and explosion protection systems and arrangements. You will be part of a diverse, multi-discipline energy team allowing you to both share your ideas whilst you learn and develop your career. We are looking for candidates who:

* Have completed an undergraduate or master's degree (e.g. Fire Safety Engineering or STEM degree) level qualification in a relevant subject by summer 2026.
* Have completed a technical document authoring experience (e.g. dissertation).
* Ability to work effectively within a team but also independently.
* Excellent organisation and time management, the ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
* Eager to take ownership, ask questions, and seek out opportunities to grow.


The following are desirable but not essential:

* Experience in design engineering of suppression, alarm, and detection systems, primarily for building facilities as part of either prior work or an internship.
* Exposure to building code and life safety code analysis as part of either prior work or an internship.
* University level experience with CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) (FDS) modelling and analysis.


You must be:

* A flexible self-starter, who is keen to drive their career forward.
* Adaptable to change, with a thirst for learning new things.
* Have the permanent right to work in the UK.
* Our Graduate Programme assumes that participants are commencing their first professional role post‑graduation. To qualify:
o Completed your first degree no earlier than the summer of 2024.
o Not worked in a similar professional role since graduation.
o Achieved a minimum 2:2 in your first degree.

* Step 2: Successful candidates will be invited to complete an online assessment.
* Step 3: Those who are selected will be invited to a final face‑to‑face interview with our operations teams.
* Step 4: Selected candidates will be offered an opportunity to join Amentum Graduate Programme in September 2026.
