<div><h3>Position</h3><p>Community Staff Nurse - Grange, Windermere & Ambleside District Nurses</p><p><b>The closing date is 28 June 2026</b></p><h3>Summary</h3><p>We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and highly motivated band 5 Community Staff Nurse to join our friendly and supportive community nursing teams in Grange, Windermere & Ambleside District Nurses.</p><p>1 x 37.5 hour post – fixed term for 1 year to cover maternity leave. Start date August 2026.</p><p><b>Please note this post is to work across both teams, Windermere & Ambleside District Nurses and Grange District Nurses</b></p><h3>Main Duties</h3><p>The role requires excellent communication skills as you will be undertaking complex nursing assessments and developing and delivering programmes of care for patients and carers. The district nurses work a 24hr service and there is an expectation that you may be required to support this to ensure service delivery.</p><p>You will need to work collaboratively with other professionals, voluntary sector and informal carers to promote excellent care to patients in their own homes and the community setting.</p><p>You will need a full UK driver’s licence and access to a car to fulfil this role.</p><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Registered Nurse (on the relevant part of the register for the post)</li><li>Mentoring and assessing qualification or working towards</li><li>Post registration clinical course appropriate to area or willingness to undertake further training relevant to the post – and to use and maintain these skills in the delivery of care</li><li>Tissue Viability</li></ul><h3>Experience and Skills</h3><ul><li>Evidence of recent professional development</li><li>Experience of establishing effective communication</li><li>Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team</li><li>Experience of implementing change</li><li>Experience of mentoring and assessing members of the team</li><li>Experience as shift team leader</li><li>Specific clinical skills appropriate to speciality or willingness to undertake</li></ul><h3>Disclosure and Barring Service Check</h3><p>This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.</p><h3>About Us</h3><p>We operate from three main hospitals – Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal – as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.</p><p>Our community services for adults are provided in peoples homes, community centres, clinics, GP Practices, community hospitals and our main hospitals.
