The Curriculum Area team includes over 20 full-time and part-time staff involved in teaching, assessing, and support roles. The team also engages in commercial, community, and project activities, with a strong record of skills development. The college maintains extensive links with industry and stakeholder groups.
The college is the leading provider of Level 3 agricultural courses in Wales, with a dedicated campus featuring a science laboratory, seminar rooms, ICT suites, and engineering workshops. Our goal is to provide students with a rewarding and stimulating learning experience that prepares them for employment in the land-based sector.
The role offers an opportunity for a proactive individual to deliver high-quality teaching and learning on land-based programs.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake teaching, assessment, and coordination of programs across a range of Agricultural Engineering courses from Level 1 to 3 (bilingual and in Welsh). Ability to deliver both classroom and practical sessions safely is essential.
* Contribute to the management of the subject area.
* Support administration and resource development within the section at Gelli Aur and assist in developing Welsh language teaching materials.
* Engage with industry to support Agricultural Engineering provision and develop commercial courses.
* Contribute to quality assurance through the internal verification system.
* Prepare teaching and learning materials for assigned subjects.
* Develop resources and facilities to support teaching activities.
* Participate in course team functions.
* Conduct assessments for assigned subjects.
* Ensure classroom and practical facilities comply with health, safety, and legislative standards.
* Liaise with stakeholders such as sector skills councils, HE institutions, industry bodies, and employers.
* Act as a personal tutor for a group of learners.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
We seek candidates with a Level 3 qualification in Land-based Engineering and industrial experience in agricultural engineering. A teaching qualification is desirable but not essential. Passion for learner progression and attainment is important.
