Salary: Band 2 - starting salary £14,133 (FTE £24,900) with annual, incremental progression up to £14,444 (FTE £25,448) Hours: 21 hours / 6 days per week Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract until July 2027 Closing date: Sunday 14 June 2026 at 11:59pm Arts University Plymouth is seeking to appoint a Housekeeping Assistant Supervisor to its Estates and Facilities team. About You: You will have previous experience in commercial cleaning, ideally within an educational, healthcare, hospitality or similar busy environment, with the confidence to step into a supervisory role when needed. You will be someone who takes pride in high standards, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to maintaining clean, safe and welcoming spaces. You will be comfortable leading and supporting a team, allocating tasks, prioritising workloads and responding flexibly to changing business needs such as sickness cover or room usage changes. You will have a good understanding of health and safety requirements within cleaning services, including safe working practices and COSHH regulations. You will be a reliable and motivated team player with strong communication skills, able to work independently as well as collaboratively with colleagues and building users. About The Role: You will help supervise and coordinate the day-to-day work of the Cleaning Team, supporting the Housekeeping Team Leader and deputising in their absence, including Saturday supervision responsibilities. You will ensure University buildings are cleaned to a consistently high standard, carrying out quality checks and supporting the smooth running of cleaning operations across campus. You will assist with allocating duties, managing cleaning rotas and helping to organise cover for holidays, sickness and other absences to ensure services continue effectively. You will play an important role in maintaining a safe and secure environment, including opening buildings, managing access arrangements, following health and safety procedures and reporting maintenance or security concerns.
