Role Description
This full-time hybrid position as a Supervising Social Worker is based in the Manchester Area, United Kingdom. The role involves supervising and supporting foster carers, managing a caseload, and ensuring compliance with national fostering standards. Key responsibilities include conducting assessments, preparing and delivering reports, handling training and development for carers, and collaborating with relevant agencies to ensure the welfare of children. The role requires both in-person visits and remote work flexibility, enabling a balance between fieldwork and administrative tasks.
Qualifications
* Experience and skills in supervising and supporting foster carers, including assessing and monitoring their performance.
* Strong knowledge of UK fostering regulations and national minimum standards.
* Report writing, record-keeping, and case management proficiency.
* Proven ability to build effective relationships with children, young people, families, and external agencies.
* Excellent communication, including active listening, conflict resolution, and teamwork abilities.
* Relevant qualification in Social Work (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work) and registration with Social Work England.
* Commitment to ongoing professional development and a solution-focused approach to challenges.
* Possession of a valid UK driver's license and willingness to travel within the area.
* Experience in therapeutic fostering support is an advantage but not required.
