A leading manufacturer in the Dungannon area is seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team. Your New RoleAs a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the end-to-end design and integration ofponents for a range of modular units, including welfare cabins and solar-powered systems. This is a hands-on position requiring strong CAD skills and technical knowledge of off-grid electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
1. 3D Design & Documentation:Create detailed 3D models and assemblies using SolidWorksProduce accurate 2D manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and cut listsOptimise designs for cost-effective and efficient manufacturing
2. Systems Integration:Specify and integrate solar PV panels, batteries, inverters, and generatorsPerform power calculations and solar yield assessmentsSource and specifyponents such as lighting, heating, and pumps
3. Ensure designs meet relevant safety and building standards
4. Maintain technical documentation and revision control
5. Drive improvements in product performance and cost-efficiency
What You’ll Need to Succeed
6. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
7. Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modelling and technical drawings
8. Strong understanding of off-grid power systems (solar PV, batteries, inverters)
9. Knowledge of fabrication techniques for sheet metal and structural steel
10. Familiarity with electricalponents and low-voltage DC systems
11. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to integrate multiple engineering disciplines
Desirable:
12. Experience in modular building or enclosure design
13. Ability to interpret and create electrical schematics
14. Knowledge of UK/EU building and electrical regulations
