We are looking for a Project Manager to lead and deliver complex, high-value projects in a facility with customer on site presence. Youll come with a ship building, senior vessel engineering, heavy fabrication engineering background to play a critical role in our operations where youll both roll up your sleeves and operate as part of the Senior Leadership Team. Our strategically located facility on the River Mersey operates across 5 core markets: defence refit and repair, commercial refit and repair, defence newbuild projects, commercial newbuild projects and energy. Across 90 acres we operate four dry docks, a large modular construction hall and extensive covered workshops. Weve played a strategic role in UK shipbuilding for the past 200 years. So, what will you do? Lead and manage complex projects with full accountability for budget, timeline, risk, and stakeholder management Interpret complex technical, commercial, and legal documentation to anticipate risk and provide actionable recommendations Apply advanced problem-solving methodologies to identify root causes and collaborate with stakeholders to implement effective solutions Promote behaviours and decision-making aligned with the companys vision and values Champion a culture of learning and continuous professional development Drive business transformation, manage change, and support business continuity and resilience planning Provide clear leadership, communication, and direction to multidisciplinary teams internally and externally Ensure compliance with all relevant HR, governance, and operational policies What are we looking for? Experience managing high-value (£10m) projects in maritime, engineering, or construction An understating of the complexities of operating within a supply chain meeting MOD standards eg DEF STANs, security clearance Qualified in Project Management Association for Project Management (APM), PRINCE2 or equivalent with Cost Management Accounting and Estimating capability Strong commercial, operational, and financial awareness with the ability to see the wider picture and understand the impact of decisions The ability to lead, influence and inspire cross-functional teams with conflicting priorities Understand risk management and business continuity An exceptional communicator with fine-tuned interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of tackling performance and operational challenges well High personal integrity, tenacity, resilience, and a proactive, solutions-driven mindset Commitment to driving transformation, quality, and excellence across all areas Why join us?
