About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Primary Care Nurse to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Foston Hall, a closed category women’s Prison and Young Offenders Institution located in the village of Foston in Derbyshire, England.
Location and Capacity
HMP Foston Hall has a capacity of 350 females aged 18 and over.

Hours
- Monday–Sunday service
- 37.5 hours per week
- Days 7 am–8 pm
- Nights 7.45 pm–7.15 am
- 1 weekend in 3
- 3–4 night shifts per month
- Rotations scheduled 3 months in advance
Salary
This full‑time position offers an annual salary between £43 609 and £49 175, depending on experience.

Responsibilities
- Lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver a nurse‑led service and prevent hospital admissions.
- Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening.
- Provide evidence‑based care that is personalised and informed by patient feedback.
- Deliver non‑judgemental care that makes a real difference.
- Inspire excellence by forging strong links with partners and stakeholders, providing a trustworthy service.
- Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence‑based care and continuous quality improvement, embedding a culture of shared learning.
- Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care, building strong multidisciplinary teams and supporting each other to do a great job.

Qualifications
- Registered nurse – Adult NMC
- Evidence of continued professional development

- Motivated individually and in team settings
Experience in a hospital, community or prison environment is highly desirable but not essential.
