We’re 1st Central, a market-leading insurance company utilising smart data and technology at pace. Rapid growth has been based on giving our 1.4 million customers exactly what they want: great value insurance with an excellent service. And that’s the same for our colleagues too; we won Insurance Employer of the Year at the British Insurance Awards 2024 and our Glassdoor score is pretty high!
We’ve got a great opportunity to join 1st Central as our new Supplier Assurance Business Partner. Are you a natural relationship-builder with a knack for process and detail? Do you get a buzz from making complex frameworks feel simple and engaging? Fancy working in a fast-paced, people-first company where you can truly make an impact? Well, we might just have the role for you.
We’re looking for someone who knows their way around supplier management, understands third-party risk, and is passionate about helping colleagues across the business get it right. You’ll be the go-to expert on all things Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) - think of yourself as the friendly face of compliance.
Skills you’ll need to be a great fit for the role:
* Strong Stakeholder Management and Relationship Building Skills: you’ll excel at fostering relationships with key stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor and point of contact for all things related to TPRM.
* Attention to Detail and a Compliance Mindset: you’re someone who spots issues before they become problems and has a sharp eye for quality assurance and process improvement.
* Solid Supplier Risk & Regulatory Know-How: you’ve worked with supply chain risk and understand the regulatory landscape (bonus points for financial services experience and CIPS qualifications!).
* Experience of Third Party Risk Management Systems Implementation (advantageous): you’ve been involved in implementing or working with TPRM systems before – even better! That hands-on experience will come in handy.
We’re big on flexible working, with offices in Salford Quays, Manchester, and Haywards Heath, West Sussex. You'll spend most of your time working from home with a day a week at the office or when required, but of course, it’s your choice. If you prefer to be in the office more, that's fine too. If you live further out, we’re open to remote working — just ensure you can visit the office monthly or bi-monthly for in-person collaboration.
What’s involved:
* Develop strong relationships with business stakeholders to build credibility and act as a trusted colleague, being the main point of contact for all TPRM-related matters.
* Lead on embedding and rolling out the Group-wide supplier management procedures and framework across relevant teams.
* Work with Relationship Managers to maintain a maturity map of supplier management and compliance.
* Develop and maintain a roadmap to enhance Relationship Managers' capabilities.
* Lead on establishing training and e-learning resources for TPRM activities.
* Lead the Supplier Management Forum, including maintaining the Terms of Reference, developing agendas, and presenting as needed.
* Assist in developing tools to monitor compliance with supplier management procedures and frameworks, and oversee monitoring activities.
* Support the creation of new tools, templates, and guidance documents for supplier management.
* Present webinars and drop-in sessions on supplier management topics and other relevant themes.
* Oversee the monitoring of TPRM maturity and capability across the organization.
* Assist in managing Risks and Controls in Protecht, ensuring timely closure.
* Coordinate with Procurement to ensure awareness of TPRM processes and developments.
* QA data outputs from the Supplier Assurance Team.
* Ensure supplier Technical Audit activities align with the framework and are proportionate to segmentation outcomes.
* Monitor OsCo supplier RTG plans to ensure progress.
Experience, knowledge & skills:
* Understanding of supplier management best practices, including risk and relationship management.
* Knowledge of supply chain risks and controls.
* Experience in financial services and regulatory environment (preferred).
* Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
* Experience in auditing and compliance management.
* Understanding of FCA, GFSC outsourcing rules.
* Studying towards or achieved CIPS qualification.
* Good influencing skills and keen attention to detail.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
Behaviours:
* Enthusiastic, supportive, and proactive.
* Organized, able to meet deadlines, and take ownership.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Flexible and positive attitude.
* Driven to improve business processes and contribute to success.
* Strong problem-solving skills.
