Position: Experienced Social Worker
Location: Home-based
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time/Part-Time (generally 9-5, Monday to Friday)

Role Overview:
Join British Gas Energy as a Social Worker in a new role within our Vulnerable Customer Centre of Excellence. This team will support at-risk individuals across the UK, helping customers when they need us most. You'll develop and implement frameworks to identify and assist vulnerable customers, guiding frontline teams to provide tailored support with compassion and resources.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Identifying vulnerable customers facing financial or health hardships and developing appropriate support plans.
2. Providing direct support and resources, such as access to financial aid, energy efficiency advice, and more.
3. Assisting in crisis situations, coordinating emergency interventions for health, wellbeing, or disconnection issues.
4. Educating customers and solvers about rights, available programs, and ways to reduce energy costs.
5. Collaborating industry-wide to develop accessible support programs.
6. Addressing mental health issues linked to energy insecurity and connecting customers with relevant services.
Candidate Profile:
We seek a compassionate, solutions-focused Social Worker with a proven track record in delivering high-quality social work. You should demonstrate strong empathy, effective communication skills, and confidence in sensitive conversations. Digital proficiency and experience in promoting customer independence and safety are essential. Experience in energy or banking sectors is advantageous but not required.
