About the Role
The Bid Manager will oversee the end-to-end tendering process for Voltempo, ensuring high-quality proposals that secure public and private sector contracts. This role will work closely with engineering, commercial, and project teams to deliver compelling bids aligned with client requirements and Voltempo's strategic goals. Critical to success will be the ability to enable an effective ‘solution selling’ approach to our bids, whilst ensuring an efficient process that will allow for rapid turnaround and submission of proposals concurrently.

* Develop the bid strategy for identified tenders or direct proposals to meet client needs – defining the winning strategy, key differentiators and value propositions, in collaboration with the Commercial Team and Voltempo leadership.
* Coordinate internal teams to gather technical, commercial, and compliance inputs for proposals – ensuring timelines/milestones defined, communicated and met.
* Working with operations and the finance teams, ensure a robust and easy to use pricing model for proposals, regularly updating as need arises.
* Develop clear, persuasive, and competitive bid and proposal documents – standardising where possible and ensuring clear version control and filing.
* Monitor tender portals and proactively identify new opportunities – including securing Voltempo on relevant framework agreements where relevant.
* Develop and manage the internal bid approval process, including establishing an ‘Bid/No bid’ opportunity assessment first stage to analyse and decide whether to progress with Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and new leads and opportunities.
* Capture and report on lessons learned from bids submitted, both successful and unsuccessful, and ensuring relevant teams adopt recommendations.
* Prepare and present regular pipeline reports (through Salesforce), providing insights into Commercial Team activities, trends and performance metrics.
Skills and capabilities:
* Experience managing end-to-end bid lifecycle management (from qualification to submission), ideally within engineering or infrastructure sectors.
* Strong understanding of RFP processes and compliance requirements.
* Good understanding of ‘solution selling’ and ability to develop winning bid strategies and compelling proposals.
* Ability to develop pricing and cost models for proposals and input on pricing strategy.
* Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams (sales, operations, technical, finance).
* Understanding of contractual terms and risk management.
* Strong project management and organisational skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and bids under tight deadlines.
* Excellent written communication and attention to detail.
* Proficiency in tools such as MS Project, Salesforce CRM system, and document management platforms desirable.
* Knowledge of the Electric Vehicle and/or transport/logistics sector is desirable but not essential
