Job Description

As a Manager within the PSA AQ team, you will work with senior members of the team to:

1. provide risk management and quality support to the PSA teams, as well as other assurance and advisory teams where required
2. review drafts of engagement contracts and other documents to support teams in negotiating the final contract with the client, liaising with other members of the Firm’s audit and quality teams and Legal as appropriate
3. support teams in ensuring the engagement letters and risks are managed effectively when using public sector frameworks linking with other teams within the Firm
4. support, educate and coach client facing teams and individuals to enhance their risk awareness and to enable them to manage risks appropriately
5. develop and maintain training materials as well as presenting at relevant training sessions
6. ensure required controls are understood and implemented by client-facing teams
7. help to identify and manage emerging risks
8. contribute ideas and support colleagues to ensure that the PSA AQ and client-facing teams function as effectively as possible
9. work collaboratively with the Firm’s other central support teams, such as Legal and Ethics, to help our client facing teams overcome challenges and to improve our policies and processes
10. develop guidance materials and resources including template documentation.
11. support the service line file review and monitoring procedures

Knowing you’re right for us

Joining us as an PSA AQ Senior Manager, the minimum criteria you’ll need is either:

12. a professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, ICAS) together with experience of working in an assurance or advisory business unit of a professional services firm; or
13. a legal/risk management background with experience of advising on contracts and developing policies; or a role within public sector procurement leading on contract management

It would be great if you had some of the following skills, but don’t worry if you don’t tick every box, we’ll help you develop along the way.

14. project management experience
15. experience of working in or advising teams involved in professional services delivery.
16. experience of drafting and/or reviewing contractual terms.
17. have a positive, proactive attitude and be someone who takes pride in delivering a high-quality output
18. be commercially aware and recognise the need to balance risk with reward
19. good attention to detail, whilst retaining an ability to see the bigger picture, so that you are able to find innovative solutions to novel situations
20. an awareness of the ethical principles that apply to professional services firms, especially those that apply to audit firms
21. an ability to communicate effectively with a flexible and agile approach
22. an interest in how we can develop digital solutions to help us do things to improve the way we work
23. be a resilient individual who enjoys being part of a diverse team
