* Salary: Grade 5 SCP 18-22 = £31,537 - £33,699 per annum pro rata
* 35 Hours = 94.59% = £29,830 - £31,875 per annum

We are seeking an experienced Senior Residential Childcare Practitioner to help set up our own residential children’s home within the Merthyr Tydfil County Borough. This is an exciting time to join the local authority as we begin to establish a residential arm to support some of the children and young people in our care.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide a safe and secure environment for children and young people.
* Support them to reach their full potential by providing emotional and social support.
* Manage challenging behaviour and develop an understanding of early childhood trauma and its impact.
* Be part of the management team, offering support and guidance to staff.
* Help establish a cohesive team to provide the best care.
* Work on a rota basis, including sleep‑in shifts, to support the 24‑hour care.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Level 3 Diploma for Children and Young People or equivalent.
* Evidence of all essential qualifications.
* Ability to speak Welsh is desirable.
