ROLE PURPOSE
Agiliti brings next-generation cloud and AI tools to ambitious organisations looking to improve and grow; working with award-winning technology partners to deliver powerful, impactful solutions that are game changing for businesses looking to modernise and automate their operations and processes.
The Practice Lead for Applications will work with the Chief Operating Officer to oversee strategy, technology alignment and partnerships for the Applications practice. This will include planning and delivery of new product adoption, solution marketing and leveraging partner relationships to drive better commercial outcomes.
The practice lead will take a direct role working with account owners and the Sales Director to drive commercial success. This will include working on opportunity proposals and bids, planning and delivering customer facing presentations (including industry events), general application presales and ongoing client solution reviews.
Working with the Head of Projects the role will help develop, plan and optimise the team resources in line with the sales pipeline and performance of the practice. This role is expected to have a chargeable utilisation of around 30-40% working on client strategic engagements including high level strategic process mapping, management and automation.
The practice lead will hold direct line management responsibility for all seniors and the principals consultants in the Applications practice working with the team to identify issues and provide technical guidance on resolution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Leadership & Culture
* Working with the Chief Operating Officer lead key technology alignment and partnerships; practice vision and key messaging, resource planning and team structure
* Provide internal updates and communication on the Applications practice, current focus and technology developments
* Engage with SMT for wider business strategy, planning, execution and management in line with business goals
* Develop strong and trusted relationships with the Chief Operating Officer, Head of Projects and Practice Leads for Unifi (Dynamics) & Sentri (MSP)
* Drive day-to-day efficient operations across application development, process mapping and management, and automation solutions
* Work with the Head of Projects to implement and drive system use, adoption of operational policies, procedures, and best practices
* Build and lead a high-performing team delivering to agreed standards
* Foster a culture of accountability, cross departmental collaboration, and continuous learning
* Drive best practices for secure application development principals and provide guidance and implementation oversight
2. Line Management
* Direct management of the teams in the Application practice, supporting line managers with people, customer and process issues
* Identify areas for continuous improvement and ensure the teams are appropriately trained and supported in their roles by their line managers
* Monitor the team performance and client satisfaction and act on any required improvements
* Perform 121’s and regular reviews including building PDPs (Personal Development Plans) for direct reports and support line managers with wider team
* Support the Head of Projects to drive team process efficiency, workload balance and data accuracy
* Assign key projects to the team and work with the Head of Projects on delivery challenges
3. Partner Relationship Management
* Work with our primary Application partners (e.g., Nintex and Microsoft) to manage the relationships
* Attend relevant partner updates with partner managers, covering sales, pipeline, marketing plan and technical enablement
* Handle quotations and commercial negotiations/discussions with partners and engage on marketing activities
* Arrange technical updates and training across team to support learning and certification requirements
* Attend, support and speak at partner events including exhibition stands and speaker slots at conferences, etc.
4. Commercial (Sales, Presales and Marketing)
* Support wider sales team on deals with customers and relationships where required
* The role will be responsible for ensuring high quality and timely tender submissions across the practice
* Lead key pre-sales engagements, working closely with the sales team and sales director to drive successful commercial outcomes
* Compile pre-sales presentations and slide decks that support commercial engagements
* Build any relevant pre-sales environments, demonstrations and presentations
* Assist the marketing team with the creation of presentation decks and promotional collateral including digital and print
* Work with the marketing team to define, produce, script and present webinar and seminar content
* Speak at Synergi events and conferences and 3rd party events that are industry or partner aligned
5. Operational Planning & Execution
* Work with the Chief Operating Officer and Head of Projects on practice capacity planning and resource forecasting to support growth and scalability
* Support the principal delivery consultants with project challenges and deliver technical guidance
* Contribute to strategic initiatives including automation, tooling, and service innovation
* Work closely as part of the Synergi SLT to develop and implement operational strategies aligned with company goals
* Support Head of Projects to ensure successful application project outcomes
* Work with the Head of Projects to oversee team resource allocation to ensure creative and optimal utilisation of personnel, 3rd parties and equipment.
* Working with the Head of Projects act as a senior point of contact for practice escalations and strategic client discussions
* Work with Head of Projects to ensure SLAs and KPIs are met or exceeded across all service lines
6. Delivery
* Deliver chargeable scoping sessions for clients as part of early project engagements for application development, process mapping and process automation
* Delivery high level process strategy sessions as part of initial process mapping phases and process automation engagements with clients
* Lead key project reviews, change discussions and strategic planning session with clients
* Deliver approximately 30-40% billable client time per month
Requirements
Professional Experience & Skills
* Proven experience in a senior application focused leadership role
* Strong market knowledge and understanding of the application development, process mapping and automation market
* Experience of market analysis, product identification, adoption and lifecycle management
* Strong knowledge and background in Microsoft Power Platform, SharePoint, Teams, Copilot and AI
* Strong commercial negotiation skills – client and supplier
* Detailed understanding of secure software development practices, lifecycles and implementations
* Demonstrated success in application delivery team oversight and planning
* Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills

Desirable Knowledge
* Familiarity with Synergi’s other practice solution areas: Sentri (Managed services, cybersecurity and monitoring) and Unifi (Dynamics 365, ERP/CRM)
* Familiarity with ITIL, Agile, and Prince2 methodologies
* Knowledge of Nintex Promapp and Nintex Workflow solutions
