Overview
We are looking for a resourceful and energetic multi skilled operative to join our expanding team at North Manchester General. The role offers the chance to showcase expertise and knowledge in an ever-changing environment, supporting and fixing issues across the site to ensure visitors, workers, and patients receive a consistent, high-quality experience.
Responsibilities
* Undertake robust estates maintenance and repair works on hospital equipment, including installation and service across electrical, mechanical, carpentry, landscaping, and associated hardware.
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance to mechanical systems, and be trained on new systems as required.
* Prioritise workload to affect change within the hospital and maintain a safe environment for clients, visitors, and staff.
* Work in potentially hazardous environments (switch/plant rooms, workshops) and/or challenging conditions (confined spaces, heat, cold, wet, dirty) with appropriate health and safety practices.
* Liaise with stakeholders and clinical staff to support the running of a busy hospital and resolve technical issues in an ever-changing environment.
* Engage in on-site training and courses to expand knowledge and enable progression and up-skilling within the role.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Basic skills across multiple trades (electrical, mechanical, carpentry, landscaping, and related hardware) to maintain properties in line with service level agreements and quality standards.
* Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks in a hospital setting.
* Willingness to work in potentially hazardous environments and follow health & safety codes of practice.
* Good communication skills to liaise with visitors, staff, and clinical teams.
* Commitment to ongoing learning and taking advantage of on-site training opportunities.
