and main responsibilities
1. To Lead and develop Ward 1 to meet the needs of the service
2. To lead and manage the development and provision of a high quality nursing service and environment for the inpatient service of ward / department
3. To provide specialist nursing knowledge, expertise and advice, facilitating the provision of evidence based patient centered care pathways and package
4. To ensure that resources are efficiently and effectively managed to deliver a high quality service
5. To work closely with specialty Consultants, multi-disciplinary teams, other clinical leaders, Matrons and directorate managers to provide a high quality and cost-effective patient focused service
6. To establish a balance between clinical and managerial demands so as to maintain clinical credibility.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
7. NMC Registered Nurse
8. Recruitment and selection course
9. Demonstrates theoretical and practical knowledge of leading services at an acute leve
Desirable criteria
10. Qualification in the specialty Masters Level Course
Experience
Essential criteria
11. Demonstrable post-registration experience, to include at least 2 years band 6 experience expertise in acute setting
12. Ability to work in a pressured environment
13. Experience in service and practice development
Desirable criteria
14. Band 6 Experience within Older peoples Services/ Stroke services
