Role Overview
As our company continues to grow, we are looking to expand our existing Pre-Sales team with the recruitment of a further Pre‑Sales Technician who will be responsible ensuring that the solutions and services offered to our customers are technically accurate and compliant with both industry and client regulations and standards. The Pre‑Sales Technician will provide support to colleagues and customers warranting that solution designs are both technically and financially viable for delivery, they will also support the promotion of the organisation by undertaking the role of technical expert at industry events, seminars and customer meetings.
Key Responsibilities
* Provision of presales technical advice to colleagues and partners.
* Technical review and verification of proposed solutions before they are submitted to prospective customers.
* Assisting colleagues and partners with tender responses and specifications.
* Provide solution costs for proposals to the sales team.
* Negotiate costing, discounts and payment terms with partners and suppliers.
* When required conduct, review and document site surveys.
* Attend site meetings if required.
* Creation and collation of documentation that will form the handover from the sales team to the project team.
* Conduct contract reviews with Project Managers and Lead Technicians.
* Assist Project Managers with Scope of Work Documents in line with verified technical and financial specifications.
* Final proposal technical sign off and order acceptance.
* Management and technical support solving customer technical problems.
* Establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with those contacted during the course of work.
* When required provide training coaching and professional development to members of the team in order to enhance their knowledge and skills. At times it may be necessary to provide the relevant training on the use and functionality of hardware, equipment and services to customers and other relevant parties.
* Complete required training for the post and strive to meet development objectives.
* Responsible (if applicable) for maintaining any technical or professional qualifications required for the post.
* Opportunistically pursues additional business development opportunities with customers, identifying additional sales opportunities.
* Work towards the Fourteen Way.
* Perform any other or additional duties as dictated by the needs of the business.
Key Performance Indicators
* Profitability of projects or significant MAC works that you have been involved in the design and/or technical verification of.
* Technical escalations relation to projects or significant MAC works that you have been involved in the design and/or technical verification of.
* Service levels relating to pre‑sales and technical verification cases.
* Accuracy and presentation of quotations, proposals and tender responses that you have contributed to.
* Accuracy and presentation of PID and SOW documents that you have contributed to the creation of.
* Accuracy of data and information inputted into CRM and documents uploaded to it.
* Attendance at project kick off meetings relating to projects or significant MAC works that you have been involved in the design and/or technical verification of.
* Customer (internal and external) feedback in relation to the pre‑sales service.
Qualifications
Successful candidate will need to have a sound technical knowledge and experience in unified communications and data networking including wireless traditional data routing and switching.
