Static Paediatric MSK Physiotherapist

Are you a clinician with experience in Paediatric Musculoskeletal (MSK) care? Join our growing, forward‑thinking Paediatric MSK Physiotherapy Team and help shape an exceptional service for children and young people.
Our MSK service supports children referred by consultants, delivered across outpatient settings including Clinic 10 and the Children's Centre. Led by a Paediatric MSK Team Leader and supported by a rotational physiotherapist, the service also offers weekly Children’s Gym Exercise classes and hydrotherapy sessions. We work closely with the Paediatric Orthopaedic team and have direct access to an Extended Scope Practitioner in orthopaedics.

* Varied Caseload: Manage a broad spectrum of MSK presentations, from congenital conditions to post‑operative care, traumatic injuries, and growth‑related issues
* Neurodiverse Care: Support children with additional needs, including those with ASD or ADHD
* Holistic Practice: Create engaging, child‑centred treatment plans and adapt communication styles to work effectively with children and their families
* Professional Growth: Access regular supervision, MSK and paediatric‑specific in‑service training, and opportunities for further development.

Knowledge Requirements
* Sound up to date clinical knowledge of core conditions and applied therapy techniques relating to the speciality of paediatric MSK
* Ability to prioritise, work under pressure, manage a busy workload and time
* As an autonomous practitioner, is able to work as a team member as well as alone but with access to more senior colleague
* Able to use a laptop/computer for writing patient notes
* Knowledge of NHS procedures, policies and guidelines
* Ability to formulate and develop specialised individual treatment programmes and ability in using clinical reasoning skills based on current best practice
* Good organisational skills
* Good presentation/teaching skills
* Ability to work well as a team member and help to motivate other team members as required
* Ability to work within a stressful and unpredictable environment
* Ability to communicate clearly, accurately and in a logical manner giving due attention to details
* Ability to explain, encourage, motivate and empathise with people
* An understanding of the MSK Alliance
Qualifications
* Degree in Physiotherapy, BSc(Hons) or Graduate Diploma in Physiotherapy
* State Registration with HCPC
* Evidence of experience in the form of an up to date professional development portfolio
* Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
* Clinical supervisors course
Further Training
* Post graduate courses relevant to paediatric MSk outpatients
* Clinical supervisors course to enable student supervision
* Leadership course
Experience
* Extended clinical experience as a junior in MSk outpatients
* Some experience working in paediatrics
* Working experience in acute physical setting
* Experience of audit and service review
* Experience of supervising other staff and students
* Has worked in the NHS as a qualified physiotherapist
* Previous band 6 experience
Contractual Requirements
* Willingness to participate in 7 day working rota
* To work flexibly depending on the needs of the service.
