Overview
A leading, established and highly successful provider of mechanical and electrical installation services to commercial and industrial buildings seeks the solid appointment of an experienced and commercially talented Senior Mechanical Project Manager from an M&E / Building Services mechanical installation project management background. The role requires commuting to Leeds and involves working on projects up to £25M+ (with consideration given to those under this figure depending on experience). The successful candidate will manage mechanical installations into new build commercial and industrial units, including warehousing & distribution, manufacturing, data centres, hospitals, apartment blocks, and other related environments. Prior experience in managing mechanical installations within commercial and industrial schemes is paramount.
Please note this role is commutable to Leeds.
Responsibilities
* Lead the delivery of mechanical installations on commercial and industrial projects (new build, e.g., industrial sheds, warehousing, distribution, manufacturing, data centres, hospitals, apartments).
* Manage projects from ME&E and building services perspectives with direct responsibility for project delivery and performance.
* Collaborate with main contractors and coordinate with on-site teams, including Site Managers, Supervisors and mechanical installation engineers.
* Organise and work with other specialist mechanical engineers to undertake elements of these installations.
* Maintain client-facing communication, conduct meetings with professionalism and integrity, and participate in project decision-making.
* Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to required quality and safety standards.
Qualifications and Experience
* Strong background in M&E / Building Services with direct project management and delivery experience in mechanical installations and related services.
* Proven track record of managing and delivering schemes at the scale described (up to £25M+).
* Experience dealing with main contractors is highly desirable.
* Commercially minded, mechanically biased, and capable of leading in a client-facing environment.
* Organised, approachable leadership style with effective liaison to site-based teams.
* Able to commute to Leeds and commit to the role as described.
