The on-site Customs Shed restaurant offers a variety of local and international cuisines, complemented by a bar with a selection of beverages.

Conveniently located for rail and road travelers, the hotel is an 11-minute walk from Cardiff Central Station, a 10-minute drive from the M4, and approximately 30 minutes from Cardiff International Airport. It offers excellent facilities for business travelers, including ten fully equipped meeting rooms for up to 200 guests.

The hotel also serves as a base for exploring nearby destinations such as Brecon Beacons National Park, Caerphilly, Swansea, and Bristol, making it suitable for various types of trips.

Job Description

Position Overview

* The Hotel Sales Manager is responsible for developing new business opportunities and assisting in managing the hotel's Corporate, Leisure, and MICE accounts.
* Additionally, the Sales Manager oversees the administrative functions within the Sales department.
* All duties should be performed to the highest standards, adhering to hotel standards, company policies, objectives, and legal requirements.

Main Responsibilities

Guest Centric

* Maintain a professional, friendly, and efficient impression of the hotel at all times.
* Prioritize tasks related to guest comfort and satisfaction.
* Build good relationships with guests, visitors, and colleagues, fostering teamwork across departments.
* Provide high-quality, personalized services to enhance guest satisfaction.
* Handle guest feedback efficiently and effectively.
* Promote hotel facilities, services, events, and local area attractions.

Operations

* Maximize room sales and revenue from supplementary departments like F&B and MICE.
* Achieve performance targets related to client interactions and account development.
* Manage a portfolio of accounts to retain and grow business.
* Participate in marketing activities, familiarization trips, client events, and promotional activities.
* Prepare accurate quotations and sales reports.
* Maintain market contact lists and account information in relevant systems.
* Coordinate and execute direct mailings and market research campaigns.
* Prepare sales materials and ensure stock of promotional items.
* Identify new business opportunities through leads and listings.
* Ensure proper documentation and account management.
* Monitor the hotel's financial position and sales strategy.
* Stay informed about competitors’ performance and developments.
* Collaborate with the Sales Network to meet hotel sales targets.
* Attend sales meetings and conduct sales trips domestically and internationally.
* Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

General Administration

* Attend fire safety training and understand emergency procedures.
* Respond to industry, company, or hotel changes.
* Report suspicious activities or hazards immediately.
* Be flexible and willing to work in different departments or shifts, including weekends and nights.
* Report health and safety hazards promptly.

Talent & Culture Responsibilities

* Implement ongoing training programs to meet brand standards.
* Promote the hotel brand through exemplary behavior and communication.
* Maintain professionalism and politeness with guests and colleagues.
* Take pride in work and contribute positively to the team.

Other

* Participate in Planet 21 initiatives and activities.
* Engage in performance reviews and cross-training across departments.
* Contribute to departmental targets and objectives.

Salary: Up to £35k plus 10% STIP
