Your new role

As an Indirect Tax / VAT Senior Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality VAT and indirect tax advice to a diverse client base, while also supporting internal teams and contributing to business development.Your responsibilities will include:

• Advising clients on complex VAT and indirect tax matters across sectors including owner-managed businesses, listed companies, and multinationals
• Managing VAT projects, HMRC enquiries, ADRs, and First-tier Tribunal cases
• Supporting M&A transactions with VAT input on acquisitions and disposals
• Delivering internal and client presentations and writing technical articles
• Identifying and promoting VAT service opportunities with clients and intermediaries
• Delegating and reviewing the work of junior team members, providing constructive feedback and guidance
• Managing team operations including appraisals, billing, and people development
• Staying up to date with technical developments and sharing insights across the firm

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Manager ready to step up, or a current Senior Manager seeking a new challenge in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

What you'll need to succeed

To thrive in this role, you'll bring:

• CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification
• Proven experience in VAT advisory and project management
• Strong technical knowledge of UK VAT and indirect tax legislation
• Ability to deliver practical, commercial advice and communicate complex issues clearly
• Experience managing HMRC enquiries and VAT aspects of corporate transactions
• A proactive approach to business development and relationship building
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A collaborative mindset and commitment to continuous improvement
