Hourly Rate: Site dependent between £12.21 - £15.00 per hour
Main Responsibilities
As a Retail Security Officer, you will provide visible deterrence, respond to incidents, complete incident reports, and collaborate with local authorities. You will carry out guarding duties in store and support loss prevention by identifying vulnerabilities and mitigating risk.
* Patrolling the shop floor and deterring criminal activity
* Assessing and identifying vulnerabilities, and working proactively to minimise risk
* Liaising with management and local authorities when applicable
* Managing vulnerable persons with empathy to avoid distress
* Carrying out colleague and contractor searches in line with customer policy
* Digitally reporting incidents and using devices for daily activity planning
* Providing detailed and legible incident reporting to assist the Client and Local Authorities
The Person / Qualifications
To be an effective Security Officer, you should be a confident communicator, able to provide detailed verbal and written accounts of incidents. You should be welcoming and patient with customers and able to handle conflict professionally.
Required Experience and Qualifications You must hold a valid SIA licence to apply. Previous experience in a Retail Security role is advantageous but not essential as training will be provided.
Applicants must be able to provide a full 5-year checkable work or education history. If selected for an interview, bring your right to work documents and a recent proof of address. A current SIA Guarding or SIA Door Supervisor licence is required to apply for this role.
