Main duties of the job
With posts available, in a variety of areas across Wiltshire you will need to be willing to be flexible on location to meet the needs of our services. However, this is an excellent opportunity to train as you earn, whilst completing this apprenticeship.
You will be expected to attend University in Swindon for a day per week, and although you will be based in 1 service area, you will need to undertake 4 placements at an alternative location over the two years. Therefore, there will be the requirement to travel as part of this program. You will be supported to learn on the job by the healthcare team and a dedicated work-based tutor.
We are proud of our staff and support career progression so if you successfully complete the 2-year training course, and become registered, you will be offered an opportunity to apply and interview for a permanent job as a Band 4 Nursing Associate although this may not be in the team where you undertook the apprenticeship. Once established in this role, the opportunity for further training to become a registered nurse may also be possible.
Successful candidates will need to demonstrate at least 12 months caring experience, achieved an NVQ level 3 or equivalent, Care Certificate as well at Level 2 (or grade C) at GSCE in English and Maths prior to application. Training will commence on September 24

Essential
1. Demonstrable ability to study at Level 5 Diploma of Higher Education Level and commit to completing the Level 5 Apprenticeship
2. Level 3 Apprenticeship or equivalent,
3. Maths and English qualification: Grade A-C or Functional skills level 2
Desirable
4. Healthcare qualification such as the care certificate
Experience

5. At least 12 months experience of working within a health and social care environment.
6. Ability to communicate with members of the public and health and care providers.
7. Courteous, respectful, and helpful at all times
8. Ability to deal with non-routine and unpredictable nature of the workload and individual patient contact.
9. Knowledge of when to seek advice and refer to a registered care professional
