Job Description
As Project Accountant, you'll be the vital link between finance and project delivery teams. Your days will be varied - tracking costs, spotting trends before they become problems, and making sure milestones and cashflows are on point. You'll work closely with Project Managers to set budgets, define KPIs, report on performance, and keep everything moving in the right direction from start to finish. You'll also get to shape processes and reporting tools that make the whole business more efficient.Expect to be:
3. Managing the project cost tracker, structure, and coding in the accounts system
4. Designing and embedding new controls for cost allocation and reporting
5. Building financial reports that track profitability and highlight risks
6. Preparing budgets, forecasts, and cashflow insights with key stakeholders
7. Driving improvements in control processes
8. Supporting monthly management accounts and flash figures
9. Ensuring invoices are raised in line with project milestones and chasing where needed
10. Closing out project accounts with full financial reviews
11. Working closely with credit control and supporting audits
The Successful Applicant
A successful Project Accountant should have:
12. CIMA or ACCA part qualified or qualified by experience. It is all about your knowledge and experience that matters
13. You know your way around management information systems and how to get the best from them
14. Comfortable talking finance with both accountants and non-finance colleagues
15. Commercially switched-on, proactive, and not afraid to suggest a better way of doing things
16. Able to juggle priorities while keeping a close eye on the detail
