Who we are:
NMITE is a bold and innovative new entrant in UK Higher Education, based in Hereford, with a vision for regional impact and global recognition. We aim to revolutionise engineering education and lifelong learning by delivering hands-on, challenge-led learning experiences that are deeply embedded in industry and community.
We are passionate about making a real difference, and our team is at the heart of it. Whether you’re helping us build systems or craft the future of education, we want people who see the opportunity in building something new – and who want to grow with us on that journey.
Tasks
The Role:
NMITE is seeking a technically curious and adaptable IT Analyst who is excited by the opportunity to support and develop innovative IT systems that enable our organisation to grow and thrive. You’ll play a key role within a small but dynamic IT team, collaborating across departments to help deliver internal solutions and technical support that improve processes, infrastructure, and user experience.
This is a growth-focused role – perfect for someone with a strong interest in IT and technology who is ready to develop their technical skillset and contribute meaningfully to an organisation on the rise. You’ll work across areas such as systems development, support, process automation, and cloud platforms, with opportunities for progression and ownership as you grow.
Responsibilities may include:
* Supporting the design, implementation, and maintenance of NMITE’s internal IT solutions.
* Collaborating with internal teams to gather requirements and help shape scalable digital tools.
* Working with Microsoft Power Platform and cloud-based technologies to improve operational efficiency.
* Contributing to IT support, troubleshooting, and documentation of technical procedures.
* Assisting with IT projects, from concept to roll-out, helping users adapt and adopt solutions.
* Liaising with third-party service providers to ensure effective systems and service delivery.
* Staying up to date on digital trends and helping NMITE explore new technologies.
You'll be a great fit if:
* You have a genuine interest in IT systems and are keen to grow in a hands-on, technical role.
* You’re curious, a natural problem-solver, and enjoy figuring out how things work.
* You can explain tech concepts clearly to non-technical colleagues.
* You’re proactive, detail-focused, and enjoy working collaboratively with different teams.
* You’re comfortable working flexibly in a fast-changing environment – and excited to be part of something new.
* You’re looking for a long-term opportunity where your contributions will matter and your development is supported.

* Logical, analytical mindset and strong attention to detail.
* Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
Desirable:

* Experience with low-code/no-code solutions or scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python, JavaScript).
* Awareness of IT security practices and network principles.
* Exposure to data handling or database concepts.

* Aligned. We will always work to advance the institution’s mission and its core aims, whatever our role. We will challenge work that does not align with our mission. We will work to break down barriers between teams to ensure that more goals are shared and that we succeed together.
NMITE is committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive community – a place where we can be ourselves and succeed on merit. Whilst all applicants will be judged on merit alone, we particularly welcome applications from groups currently underrepresented in engineering education.

Please note that the closing date for applications may be brought forward if we receive a high number of suitable candidates, so early applications are encouraged.
