About the role:
As part of this excitingjourneywe are seeking a hardworkingchemist to join us in Cambridge on a permanent basis, with an outstandingteam who are working to discover, develop and deliver the right drugs to the right people,in order tomake a life changing difference to patient survival.
You will help us explore the amazingthings whichscience can do, working on projects fromLeadOptimisationthrough to part of theMedicinal Chemistry Discovery Processgroupyou willberesponsible forconceiving and implementinginnovative synthetic strategieswhileusingyour personal lab deliveryexpertiseto help solve complex chemistry problemsto deliver the next generation of Oncology medicines.
Essential Skills/Experience:
1. Adegree or in a chemistry-related discipline.
2. Practical experience of synthetic chemistry deliverywith an awarenessof scale up and route development to deliver multi gram quantities of intermediates and Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients.
3. Expert knowledge of contemporary synthetic organic chemistry and ability to deliver innovative solutions to projects.
4. Propose experimental strategies, troubleshoot laboratory-basedproblemsand make a positive contribution to the practical delivery to drive project progress.
5. Effective levels of communication and scientific drive.
6. Excellent team-working skills and ability to deliver to agreed timelines.
7. A detailed understanding of the chemical sciences and how they influence drug discovery and the ability torepresentchemistry in a cross-disciplinary project team.
8. Maintain access to the best internal& external science.
Desirable Skills/Experience:
9. Experience ofworking with external partners.
10. Experience working at the interface betweenMedicinalChemistry andProcess Chemistry.
11. Experienceof contemporarymodern synthetic technologiesand techniquessuch as high throughput experimentation, flow chemistry, modernscale upandcrystallizationtechnologies and understanding of process safety.
