We are working with a large, well-established and forward-thinking firm of Chartered Accountants based in Coventry, providing audit, accounting, tax and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of clients across the Midlands and nationally.
They pride themselves on combining technical excellence with a supportive and people-focused culture. As part of their continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Audit Manager to join their expanding Audit & Assurance team.
The Role
As Audit Manager, you will take responsibility for managing a varied portfolio of audit clients, overseeing assignments from planning through to completion, and playing a key role in developing both client relationships and junior team members. This is a leadership position suited to a technically strong and commercially aware audit professional who thrives in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing a portfolio of audit clients across a range of sectors
* Planning, budgeting and reviewing audit assignments
* Leading audit teams on-site and remotely
* Reviewing statutory accounts prepared under FRS 102 and FRS 105
* Ensuring audits are completed in compliance with UK GAAP, ISAs (UK), and internal quality standards
* Acting as the main point of contact for clients, building strong and lasting relationships
* Identifying opportunities to provide additional services
* Reporting directly to Partners and Directors
* Assisting with practice development and process improvements
* Mentoring, coaching and developing Audit Seniors and Semi-Seniors
* Involvement in tender processes and networking where appropriate
About You
* ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
* Minimum 3–5 years' UK audit experience within practice
* Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and ISAs (UK)
* Experience supervising and reviewing junior staff
* Excellent communication and client relationship skills
* Commercially aware with strong problem-solving ability
* Organised with the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines
