Job description
Our client, a prominent organisation in the Defence & Security and Aerospace sectors, is seeking a Quality Engineer for a contract position to be based onsite in Luton.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Offer advice, support and assistance on all Quality Assurance / Quality Control matters
2. Contribute actively to IPT requirements, delivering a compliant product on time while meeting all cost and safety requirements
3. Conduct First Article Inspections in accordance with AS9102 standards
4. Audit the Business Management System (BMS) in accordance with AS9100 standards
5. Support the reduction of Non-Conformance costs and foster a root cause and corrective action culture
6. Implement Assurance function's improvement plans across all phases of the Programme, Product, and Project Lifecycle
7. Positively influence quality behaviours using effective interpersonal skills
8. Attend and contribute to key meetings, including IPT, functional, Operations, and Engineering meetings
9. Ensure concessions and production permits are processed correctly and promptly, directly supporting where required
10. Support achievement of project assurance milestones within the Programme, Product, and Project lifecycle
11. Assist in delivering reports and supporting data to the Programme, Project, and function as required
Job Requirements:
12. Experience in Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Quality Management within the Defence & Security and Aerospace sectors
13. Strong knowledge of AS9100 and AS9102 standards
14. Significant understanding of quality control processes and procedures
15. Proficiency in quality auditing and non-conformance cost reduction
16. Ability to work collaboratively within Integrated Project Teams (IPTs)
17. Excellent organisational and time management skills
18. Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
19. Relevant engineering or quality assurance qualification
