As a Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for safeguarding pupils and ensuring they are healthy, safe, and comfortable. You will assist in their learning by offering companionship and support, while meeting their physical, mental, and emotional needs. You will prepare learning materials under supervision and participate in learning activities. Additionally, you will liaise with parents and staff regarding the wellbeing of the young people.

Who are we looking for?

We seek a dedicated individual motivated to work with young people with complex needs. No prior experience is required as full training and support will be provided. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, enthusiastic, reliable, resilient, and able to work well within a team. Good organisational and communication skills, along with the ability to handle various difficulties, are essential.

* Support and facilitate student learning.
* Follow school policies for recording and reporting.

About the School

Wetheringsett Manor School is a new independent day SEMH school for up to 100 pupils aged 7-18. Located in Suffolk, East Anglia, it opened in November 2020 after significant refurbishment. The school is situated on 17 acres of parkland, with various buildings including a manor house, stable block, cottage, and industrial units.

We aim to guide pupils academically and socially, building confidence and understanding of the wider community. As part of Outcomes First Group, we lead in providing measurable outcomes for vulnerable pupils and young people. In 2024, Outcomes First Group was recognized as a ‘Great Place to Work’ for the fifth consecutive year.
