Housekeeper - Ward B3

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking housekeeper to join our team on Ward B3 at Poole Hospital. We are committed to providing a high standard of care to our patients and look forward to welcoming a new member to our team.
Please note: if this job requires you to have a DBS check to enable you to properly fulfil the requirements of the job, on appointment you will be required to repay the cost of obtaining a DBS check and this amount will be reclaimed from your salary.

Main duties of the job
Responsible for assisting in the co-ordination and provision of services to ensure that the ward is a clean, safe and a comfortable environment. Provide essential support to patients in fulfilling their dietary and nutritional need. To ensure that medical equipment is decontaminated prior to be returning to the equipment library. Assist nursing staff in managing patients' property in accordance with hospital policy.

There is a planned move for this service during Spring 2026, when thisrole and base of work will relocate to Royal Bournemouth Hospital. Upon relocation of the role/service, excess mileage allowance / reimbursement will not apply, and any travel between the post holder's home and work base will be classified as a commute. Any other changes unrelated to this, will be handled in line with Trust/National terms and conditions.
This post is part of the Operational Estates service that UHD may transfer to an NHS 'wholly owned subsidiary'; the proposed date of transfer is October 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to join a developing, expanding, organisation with a strong commitment to NHS values and putting patients first. The NHS wholly owned subsidiary will continue to offer NHS AFC T&Cs to current employees who transfer in October as well as to new employees recruited after that date.
